Angled crown molding. Crown will have a 'heel' attached to the base to attach to the top of wall cabinets. If installing crown directly to the wall or the ceiling, the Angled Crown Molding (CM8-S) will work better since it does not have the 'heel'.

Cove crown molding. This crown will not have any 'heel' to attach the crown to the top of cabinetry, so it's better suited when attaching directly to the wall or ceiling. When being used on the top of wall cabinets, the Cove Crown Molding (ACM8-C) will work better since it does have a 'heel' on the bottom of the crown.
